We just delivered the final pieces for Ken Aptekar’s upcoming exhibition “Don’t Stop” at Wassserman Projects in Detroit. We printed and plexi-face mounted 30 digital collages that Ken made with photos he took of classical paintings. By changing the colors and scale of the original paintings and overlaying them with clever lyrics of pop songs from the 60’s, 70’s, & 80’s he creates new works that are not only humorous but also investigate deeper issues of artistic ownership and appropriation. We really enjoy these pieces and if you happen to be in Detroit on May 18th you should definitely go check out the opening.
